Thoughts from Suzanne Eder

Here are a few recent Facebook posts from Suzanne Eder, that I thought would be good to put here — thanks, Suzanne:

Sometimes it’s easy to confuse self-love with self-indulgence. Loving ourselves doesn’t mean excusing and continuing to indulge in our thoughts and behaviors that are negative or life-depleting. It is about understanding that all such thoughts and behaviors arise from our deepest fears and wounds and so must be treated with compassion. (As well as a firm willingness to heal them!)

Imagine there is a dimension of consciousness within you where deep insights reside and where those insights translate immediately into creative intentions. Imagine a dimension where you are already healed and whole and completely supported. Imagine a dimension where there is no room for doubt, there is room only for love. Now imagine what your life would be like if you lived it from there.

Just for today, expand your practice of gratitude to one of deep celebration! Recognize and reach for the joy and the life in whatever you are thankful for, and see if you can multiply it by sharing it with someone else.

The next time someone does something for you that is generous and kind, take the time not only to deeply appreciate the person and the experience, but to appreciate yourself as worthy of that level of generosity. See their act as a reflection of your own generous and loving nature.
